SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER
Our 2010/2011 dance season is ready to begin and we are very excited! Our focus will start with technique to assess all our dancers’ abilities, but we will be getting ready to start on Production choreography very soon as well. This is why prompt arrival and good attendance is crucial so your dancer will not miss new material. Please try to call the studio if a dancer has to miss class.
Sept. 20th- 23rd: Your first costume payment of $65 is due & we will be taking measurements this week, so it is very important for all dancers to be here. Please make payments on time to Studio 8, but make sure it is separate from tuition. (Late fees will be applied after Sept. 30th) We will start ordering as soon as possible in order to leave time for shipping and alterations. We will also be tapping this week for the first time so please make sure you order Tap shoes ASAP if your dancer does not already have them.
Special Offer!: Bring a friend to class & if they sign up for dance you get a month free tuition! Friends must sign up by October 31st & pay all registration fees & costume deposit. Your November tuition will be on us!
Co. Dance: The dance convention that we attend every few years will be in Sacramento November 12th- 14th. We would like to take our dancers (5th grade & up) for a fun weekend of learning new choreography & team work. We will carpool & stay in a hotel as to reduce cost as much as possible but the details are still being worked out. Drivers/ chaperones may be needed if your dancer is attending. If you are interested please let me know ASAP so I can get pricing worked out.
Oct. 4th-7th: Lesson Fees of $35 is due this week. Just fill out the payment envelope located on the bulletin board, include payment, and drop in the black mailbox. Make checks payable for lessons to Studio 8. Also, parents may observe during this week. (Parent observation is always & only the first lesson of the month, no exceptions please.) If you are on the family discount, or taking supplemental classes, call me if you’re uncertain on payment amounts.
Bulletin Board Calendar: please make it a habit to check the calendar on our bulletin board for any important dates, upcoming events, or information.
Shoes/dancewear: Always check our retail lobby for shoe needs. Our prices are the best around! (Christmas will be here before you know it!) We can order any size, style, and color of body suits and tights too.
Spring Production: Our spectacular show is set for April 29th, 30th & May 1st 2011; location TBA. Our theme is “A Year, In Dance!” and will include all the exciting events that happen every year including holidays, seasons & more. (If you have concerns regarding our theme due to religious beliefs please let me know & we can adjust music selections for each class.) We can’t wait to get started on choreography.
Holidays: The only holidays that we will not be having class is Thanksgiving, November 22nd- 28th & Christmas/ New Years, December 20th- January 2nd. All Monday holidays that school is out, we will still have class.
Supplemental Classes: Don’t forget that all of our Supplemental classes (Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Ballet, & Tap) are open all season long for new & experienced dancers and for all ages! Students may take class on a drop-in basis ($10 per class) or monthly ($35- new, $15– current).
